Lactate (Arterial)


General
  Clinical Use: To help detect hypoxia(Oxygen deficiency) and other conditions that can cause production or insufficient clearing of lactate from the blood.
Test is performed POC at KEMH.
  Availability: Samples are tested routinely during the testing laboratory's hours of operation.

  Handling Instructions (to laboratory): Deliver sample to laboratory immediately following collection.
Sample must reach laboratory within 20 minutes of collection.
