Beta-2 Microglobulin (Urine)


General
  Clinical Use: In normal individuals beta-2-microglobulin is found in both the serum and the urine. Proximal tubular dysfunction results in elevated concentrations of urinary beta-2-microglobulin thereby providing a means of distinguishing proximal tubular from glomerular renal diseases.
  Availability: Samples are tested Monday-Friday.
