Bartonella henselae PCR


General
  Clinical Use: Adjunctive diagnostic testing for Bartonella henselae infection (cat scratch disease).
Serology is the recommended primary test for diagnosis.
PCR testing can be performed on blood and/or biopsy of lymph node, skin or heart valve. If testing of other specimen types is required, contact a Clinical Microbiologist.
  Availability: Testing is performed Monday to Saturday, with results usually available within 48-72h of receipt by the testing lab.
